Celebrate Independence Day with a train ride!

On July 4, starting at 3pm, Maine Narrow Gauge trains will operate as a shuttle service between downtown Portland and the Eastern Promenade Park, where the city’s July 4 fireworks will be launched from. The last train is expected to leave around 8:30pm.

Explore downtown and take advantage of numerous convenient parking lots and garages nearby. Hop aboard the narrow gauge train for direct access to the city’s fireworks. 

Trains will depart the station next to Portland’s Ocean Gateway (49 Thames Street) approximately every 20-30 minutes on July 4. Admission is $5 per person! 

Trains operate only until the fireworks begin. There is no return service after the fireworks.

Note: due to the Independence Day celebrations, Maine Narrow Gauge’s narrated scenic trains will not run on July 4. Enjoy this special, patriotic train service as an enjoyable alternative!
